Event Details
Come learn about Smalltalk or join active developers to work together on various projects. Meet fellow Smalltalkers, network, discuss ideas, write code, and have some fun. If you're new to Smalltalk, this is a great chance to find out more as we'll have a tutorial to get you up to speed. For those planning to attend ESUG in Barcelona, this will be a great warm up for the Camp Smalltalk there. Make sure to bring a laptop or be prepared to pair up. Camp Smalltalk is
a hands-on event focused on producing real, working code.
Cincom is generously treating
us to
dinner on Saturday at a unique London restaurant and
Pinesoft will be opening up
their spectacular London offices for the daytime activities. Instantiations will be providing us with a tasty lunch on Saturday and ESUG is sponsoring our tea breaks throughout the weekend. We are
still finalizing a few pieces but we'll announce further details as soon as we have them.
In the meantime, the rough plan currently looks something like:
Friday, July 16
- 6:00pm – late: Come meet for casual drinks at the Sir Christopher Hatton pub, just around the corner from Pinesoft's offices. If you can't find any likely-looking candidates with laptops, look for the small plastic Smalltalk hot air balloon. All are invited to come along even if you haven't signed up for the main event on Saturday/Sunday.
Saturday, July 17 — Don't forget your laptops!
- 9:30:
- Introductory Smalltalk tutorial for beginners
- Groups form up to work on projects (the list of projects will be determined on the day depending on what people want to work on)
- 13:00: Lunch, sponsored by Instantiations
- Groups will be asked to introduce their projects so those attending the morning tutorial can find a group to join
- 14:00: More coding, discussion, etc.
- 17:45: Wrap up.
- 18:00: Depart for dinner.
- 18:45: Dinner and drinks at the ABSOLUT Icebar, sponsored by Cincom
Sunday, July 18 — Don't forget your laptops!

- Introductory Seaside tutorial
- Groups continue working on their projects
- 13:00: Lunch (attendees to pay for their own meals but we will do a group order for delivery)
